Indonesian Tiger Datnoid (Datnioides microlepis), also called Indo Tiger Fish, is one of the most common and popular tiger fish species in the aquarium trade. It is known for its bold black vertical stripes on a golden to silver body, creating a striking and attractive appearance. Available in both 3-bar and 4-bar varieties, it is a centerpiece fish for large freshwater aquariums.

Tank Size: A minimum of 100 gallons is recommended for juveniles, with larger tanks of 150¨C200 gallons required for adults.

- Temperature: 75¨C82¡ãF (24¨C28¡ãC)
- pH: 6.5¨C7.5, slightly acidic to neutral
- Hardness: 5¨C15 dGH, soft to moderately hard water
- Strong filtration is necessary to maintain water stability and cleanliness.

Diet: Indonesian Tiger Datnoids are carnivorous. They prefer live or frozen shrimp, small fish, bloodworms, and can adapt to carnivore pellets and prepared foods with training.

Behavior: Semi-aggressive species that should be kept with other large fish such as arowanas, large cichlids, bichirs, or stingrays. Smaller fish may be eaten as prey.

Growth and Care: They can grow up to 14¨C16 inches (35¨C40 cm) in captivity. Care level is moderate, and they are best suited for experienced aquarists due to their size and specific feeding needs.
